Background

Baró i Fills is a family-owned company with over 50 years of history dedicated to the production of stone and pome fruits. For the first time, the company has decided to produce and market apples of the Golden, Fuji, and Granny Smith varieties with special organoleptic characteristics due to being grown at high altitude.

Concept

We started from a family insight related to the production site: “Bellaguarda is where our grandfather used to go, a high place with remote farms surrounded by forest.”
To give the new brand a distinctive personality, we created a name that refers to the environment where the apples are grown: the forest. The name “Boscada” evokes, on one hand, the idea of being surrounded by the forest (emboscada in Catalan), but also suggests a play on words implying that it’s a “much sought-after” apple — and therefore, a desired one.

Brand Expression

When creating the brand, we wanted to design a visible and representative icon that would stand out from other proposals on the market. That’s why we created a symbol that represents the rugged, wooded landscape of the fields where Boscada apples grow — what makes them so unique.
The visual system is built around watercolor illustrations that evoke the brand’s spontaneous and approachable spirit.

Implementation

We designed a labeling system that easily distinguishes each apple variety through a color-coding scheme. The apples are presented in boxes that expand the visual system through illustrations, offering a coherent visual experience.

The identity is completed with an e-commerce website that also presents the brand’s storytelling, evoking nostalgia and reinforcing its core values.
